British Schools Championships 2018
What a weekend Vale Judoka have had at the British schools Championships over the weekend of the 17th/18th March in Sheffield at the institute of sport.
On Saturday Jack Cutforth, Amy Riddlesdell, Karis Houghton- brown , Bryony Cutforth competed. On Sunday Sofia Palmer competed.
The Day started with Jack Cutforth competing in year8/9 u42kg group after being ill earlier in the week and still not 100% , made progress and had a succesful 2nd fight. A great start in his competitive judo. Amy Riddlesdell competed in year8/9 u47kg earning a fantastic SILVER medal winning her fights with ippon and only losing in the final but a lovely Silver medal earned. Karis Houghton-Brown competed in year10/11 u70kg her new weight group she earned a lovely BRONZE medal after confidently settling in this new group. Last of the day on Saturday compete was Bryony Cutforth competing in year10/11 u63kg after a lovely ippon in her first fight she was then taken into the repecharge for after her 2nd fight and earned a great 5TH place after 2 more ippon wins in the repecharge. A great Saturday :)
Sunday proved to be a golden Day with Sofia Palmer competing in the year12/13 u70 group
she earned a fantastic GOLD medal and is showing great success in coming back to competing again.
