Medal Hunting up North

Medal hunting up north! Three Vale Judo Warriors travelled to Gateshead this last weekend to compete in the Northern Area Open in the cadet (u18) category. Mary Tomblin fought hard to take a bronze in the u52kg group. Rory Tyrell fought at a new u50kg weight and took a silver in a pool of five. Karis Haughton Brown fought in a pool of four u70kg competitors to win decisively all contests to take the gold. Great job - all of these VJC players will be competing as part of the midland area team at the National Team Championships, accompanied by club members James Reseigh (u60kg) and Amy Riddlesdell (u57kg) - this event takes place on 30th June in Cardiff.
